چکیده
Evaluating any subsurface CO2 storage site comprises the reservoir, seal, and overburden investigation to mitigate injection storage-related complications. The Upper-Middle Jurassic Sognefjord, Fensfjord, Krossfjord formation sandstones are potential reservoirs at Smeaheia area, northern North Sea. area is located east of Troll oil gas field. Upper organic-rich Heather Draupne Formation shales main seals for sandstone reservoirs. In this study, we carried out a prestack seismic inversion obtain elastic property cubes acoustic impedance (AI), velocity ratio (Vp/Vs), bulk density (RhoB). From these cubes, obtained reservoir properties such as porosity (Phi), shaliness (Vsh), permeability (k) formations. We introduced two new equations extract shale volume from inverted in present study. These nonlinear based on AI versus Vp/Vs rock physics template. Both correlated first with well log data then applied (AI Vp/Vs) Vsh Phi cubes. An additional cube (PhiD) was generated RhoB comparison. Finally, using an empirical equation, extracted cube. derived 3D seismic, addition log, revealed vertical lateral variations porosity, shaliness, area. used infer depositional environment viability storage. environments identified were shoreface deltaic sand-body geometries. found Sognefjord possessing best properties, followed by Fensfjord secondary potential. contrast, owed lowest quality

Reservoir Simulation of CO2 Storage in Deep Saline Aquifers
We present the results of compositional reservoir simulation of a prototypical CO2 sequestration project in a deep saline aquifer. The objective was to better understand and quantify estimates of the most important CO2 storage mechanisms under realistic physical conditions. Simulations of a few decades of CO2 injection followed by 10 to 10 years of natural gradient flow were done. The impact of...

متن کاملSPE 154339 Reservoir Characterization of an Unconventional Reservoir by Integrating Microseismic, Seismic, and Well Log Data
Varied data types including geophysical data as well as well logs have been used frequently in the past to characterize reservoirs. However, the use of microseismic data as a potential source of useful information and its integration with conventional seismic data for reservoir characterization is an area of opportunity where properties predicted from the microseismic data can be used as a vita...
متن کاملFacies Characterization of a Reservoir in the North Sea Using Machine Learning Techniques
In oil and gas industry, oil is produced from wells drilled into the oil reservoirs. A thorough understanding and characterization of the subsurface is crucial to sustainable management of a reservoir. The subsurface, however, is largely heterogeneous and oil is not present everywhere. For our study area, the reservoir rock is categorized as three facies: brine sand, oil sand and shale, and it ...
متن کاملReservoir characterization via time-lapse prestack seismic inversion
Diierencing of time-dependent seismic monitor surveys requires that datasets are collected and processed consistently. Inconsistencies can result in data diierence noise great enough to obscure any reservoir changes. Inversion applied to each dataset may account for some of these inconsistencies. As an example, if the shape, temporal location, or radiation pattern of the seismic energy source i...
